Puffins, Lighthouse and Black Beach

On the days like today when I am able to see the immense wonders of nature I feel speechless, blessed, and my heart is filled with love.

We went to Dyrhólaey in the morning and  I saw my first lighthouse in Iceland. I love lighthouses, you know about my passion Soozy, probably because we have none in our country. And we came across several flocks of puffins. Yes! I saw them. One of the reasons why I wanted to visit Iceland :-) they are such cute creatures.

Later we went closer to Vik and stopped at the basalt caves, enjoyed the view of the Reynishdrangar and walking on the Black pebble beach, we finished our day of exploring the south of Iceland on the black sand beach with the view of the trolls turned into stone. It was an amazing day.

Puffin (at least one iphonephoto, luckily I have my DSLR too :-))

The legend says that the Reynisdrangar needles are the remains of two night-trolls, who tried to pull a three-masted ship to land. But they were caught by the dawn and when daylight broke they turned into stone.
