Day Two - Arrival at Keflavik

Our first night at the Iceland airport. We landed at 1 am local time, it was still light out there and we could see the land from the aircraft resembling some other planet, more like a wasteland. Lufthansa provides a good service but they allowed us to book veg meal and then they had only beef available. They brought me an apple and a banana instead ;-)

It perfectly fit the following quote of my favourite writer which I heard on the radio yesterday:
“Humans need fantasy to be human. To be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape.”
–Terry Pratchett, Hogfather (London: Corgi, 1997), p. 422

We are trying to fall asleep on the cold metallic chairs opposite the entrance to the airport wrapped up in all our warm stuff waiting for the night light to turn into slightly brighter daylight.

  1. Like the feet shot. Full of anticipation where those feet will go. Exciting stuff.
